American Airlines Center was packed to the rafters for the return of Pearl Jam. I had not realized it
but Eddie was commenting that they had not been to Dallas in like 10 years. They definetely need to
come back more often. I really like the new album and was glad with the inclusion of the songs from Lightning
Bolt, but have to admit being disappointed that they did not play Even Flow or Yellow Ledbetter. I think they did
an admirable job on The Real Me.
I have been fighting a cold all week, downing the meds to make sure I was not sick at the show. Unfortunetly I
was not completely over it and there are a couple of spots where I cough pretty promentently on the recording
I did a pretty good job of fighting until it was between songs or the encore breaks but sometimes I just couldn't help it.
It is not anything that I think destroys the recording or anything but it is there. Probably worse during the songs after
the first encore break

BELA FLECK and the Flecktones - 40th Street and Thomas Phoenix, Arizona - 05/04/1990
Bela Fleck and the Flecktones
Friday, May 4, 1990 - 6:00 PM
Free concert in the Tower Records parking lot
40th Street and Thomas
Phoenix, Arizona
Bela Fleck, Howard Levy, Roy Wooton, Victor Wooten
Aud -> Cassette -> SoundForge6 -> CD Wave Editor -> FLAC frontend
According to the Flecktones website, this show was the 13th date
of their first tour to support their first album and only the
25th show of their career.
I recorded this live to cassette at the time and have used the original
tape to transfer it to CD. The recording, although an audience tape,
is quite 'present' and a good document of the early Flecktones.
Tracklist:
01) Frontiers
02) Flipper
03) Half Moon Bay
04) -introductions and demonstrations
05) Slipstream
06) Sunset Road
07) Hurricane Camille
08) -message from the secret weapon
09) The Sinister Minister
10) Sea Brazil
