Notes: I will always have a soft spot for The Who.  They were the first big stadium show I saw back in 1989 when I was 17 and I honestly have never been disappointed in the times I've seen them over the years.  Say what you want about Roger's voice or anything else, but I thought this show was great and a lot of fun.  The recording came out pretty decent as I was fairly close to the left side hanging stacks.  My only complaint would be that it wasn't very loud…never thought I'd say that about a Who show.

Raised overall volume and resampled/dithered via Adobe Audition, no EQ.

Great night with The Who! This recording of the show started out rough, as my seat was right next to a security person. As a result I couldn't check my recording levels until near the end of The Punk and the Godfather, when I realized (as I expected to find) that the recording levels were too high. This resulted in some clipping (particularly during the vocals) during the first 5 songs, but it does get much better after I was able to turn the volume down. I did perform some volume level reduction on the first five songs so they blend well with the rest of the show.I do think the loudness of this show pushed the limits of my microphones though. Be sure to listen to the samples.

Zak Starkey was not on drums again in this show (a real bummer for me, as he helped saved The Who as far as I'm concerned), but Scott Devours did a fantastic job. So don't worry if you are going to see the band in one of the upcoming shows. It sounds like Zak has tendon issues and is done with the tour. Finally, Roger's voice was strong overall, but had moments of struggle. I would love to see them again on this tour, however, and feel fortunate to have been able to see them in Denver.
