As my source listing shows this is a transfer from the master tapes recorded that night. I can guarantee this is the only soundboard that night and here's why I say that: I was the lighting designer for the show and my friend, Slinky (RIP), was the sound engineer. We hid my Nakamichi 480 under a pile of clothes inside the cabinet that held the amps. I missed some songs at the tape flip in the first show and the encore of the second show because of that. There are a couple other glitches I did the best I could with what I had to minimize.
The higlight to me was Alphonso Johnson's solo in "Bahama Mama". He had a keyboard at his feet so he was playing a duet with himself. Use caution, his playing here is not for the inferior sound system. Bobby Cochran is really layin' it down here too.
In May 2009 I transferred the tapes to digital from My Nakamichi Dragon thru cryogenic cables to an Olympus LS-10 recording PCM at 24bit/48000hz. This gives me a great transfer. I then mastered the recordings to 16/44100 flac files using SoundForge 9.0. I gave out a copy of these shows back in the '80s (the ancester of the old seed I'm sure) but have sat on the masters since then. Finding now that the band does not object to free trade, I'm seeding it here for all to enjoy. Other than fade-ins and -outs, I've left the recordings "whole", so you'll hear the few seconds of "Little Junkie Girl" recorded before the tape flip as well as chatter and foolin' around. There's also some artwork. As always, a big thanks to Candleman.
