Charlie is my Darling includes two audio CDs, one of which is the film’s soundtrack album and the other a compilation of 13 live recordings the band made over the course of their 1965 UK tour.
ABKCO presents a brand new cut, meticulously restored and fully-realized version of this first- ever, legendary, but never released film.
Shot during a quick tour of Ireland just weeks after (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction hit # 1 on the charts, The Rolling Stones Charlie is my Darling: Ireland 1965 is an intimate, behind-the-scenes diary of life on the road with the young Stones.
It features the first professionally filmed concert performances of the band and documents the early frenzy of their fans and the riots the band’s appear ances inspired. The band is shown traveling through the Irish countryside by train; dashing from cabs to cramped, basement dressing rooms through screaming hordes of fans. Motel rooms host impromptu songwriting sessions and familiar classics are heard in their infancy as riff and lyric are united. Charlie is my Darling is the invaluable frame that captures the spark about to combust into The Greatest Rock and Roll Band in the World.

ERIC CLAPTON - TRIBUTE TO ELMORE

Elmore James was an American blues guitarist, singer, songwriter, band leader. He was known as "the King of the Slide Guitar" and had a unique guitar style, noted for his use of loud amplification and his stirring voice. Many electric slide guitar players will admit to the influence of James' style. He was also a major influence on such successful 'Blues' guitarists as 'Homesick James' (who was a member of Elmore's band 'The Broomdusters' and featured on many of his recordings) John Littlejohn, Hound Dog Taylor, J. B. Hutto and many others. The Grateful Dead, John Primer (Blue Steel CD), Billy Gibbons and Eric Clapton are notable artists to have recorded Elmore James covers. Clapton also recorded a song with Jimmy Page called "Tribute to Elmore" that first appeared on the 1968 compilation album Blues Anytime Vol. 1. On the 1974 record Second Album. James's music & style still today has immense influence upon today's modern blues icons, including the young Derek Trucks of the Allman Brothers and The Derek Trucks Band, who has attributed James as his most predominant influence, and inspiration.

UK collection from the late great guitarist containing solo material as well as his work with British Blues rockers Free. For a few years beginning the mid-1960's, Great Britain was responsible for producing arguably the finest crop of rock guitarists ever with Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Peter Green, Mick Taylor, Jimmy Page to name a few. But Paul Kossoff gave us his mastery of the understated and his frighteningly expressive vibrato and, with Free, one of the finest British rock outfits.
