Live at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Morrison, CO; August 3, 2014. Very good Sirius/XM satellite broadcast.

This… orchestral program - curated by the Garcia Family - features Jerry Garcia’s original compositions, as well as classic interpretations of his timeless standards that were hallmarks of Garcia and the Grateful Dead’s shows. Collaborating with a 40+ piece Symphony, renowned vocalist/guitarist Warren Haynes (Allman Brothers Band, Gov’t Mule, The Dead) lends his soul-soaked, introspective blend of rock, blues, R&B and jazz to Garcia’s masterworks.

“I’m very excited about doing these shows. We’ve chosen a very diverse list of songs from the extensive Jerry Garcia related catalog and in the true spirit of the original music will be leaving room for improvisation and approaching the symphonic arrangements from a non-traditional direction,” says Haynes, who brings an intimate knowledge of the material, having performed extensively with The Dead and Phil Lesh & Friends.

I have noticed a couple of quick dropouts in the second set particularly during Ship of Fools and Stella Blue. I have checked this master copy and a backup I had going on another device and they are present both places. It seems it was an issue with the Sirius feed. I believe there are a couple other places where it sound like a “skip”. This was also a problem with the Sirius feed, it sounds like dropped sample from the main satellite feed in general. This only happens a couple of times and is not terribly distracting. It was captured for archival purposes only but serves as a decent and perhaps the only soundboard source we will see from any of the Garcia Symphony Celebration shows.              http://www.filefactory.com/file/5ie3xhqp1egj/WHyns%202014-08-03%28SBD%29.rar
