Al Jarreau - All I Got [2002]

Throughout his long career, vocalist Al Jarreau has blurred the lines between pop, jazz, and R&B. On the appropriately titled ALL I GOT, he continues to work that amalgam, tossing into hints of hip-hop, gospel (sometimes even in the same song, as on "Life Is"), and world music (the Nelson Mandela tribute "Jacaranda Bougainvillea"). Along the way, Jarreau manages to toss in a duet with Joe Cocker (the eminently soulful "Lost and Found"), dashes of Earth, Wind & Fire-style pop-funk, and just plain pretty pop balladry.
