PAUL McCARTNEY
iHeartRadio Music Festival 2013 [no label, 1CD]
Live at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas, NV; September 22, 2013. Excellent audio from HD webcast.
Kicking off his set of new music and legendary classics, [Paul McCartney] took the crowd on a “Magical Mystery Tour”… He even featured the song “Lady Madonna” which was accompanied by hundreds of pictures of iconic women throughout history. Paul highlighted a few songs that will be on his upcoming album including “Everybody Out There” and the title track to the album, “New.” [The other new song was Save Us.]
In between a couple of his songs, he stopped down to play the audience, asking the meaning of Las Vegas (The Meadows), asking them if they’ve lost all their money yet and to pay tribute to “the late great Jimi Hendrix.” Capping off his set, the rocker played an electrifying version of “Live And Let Die” which included a startling display of fire, fireworks and laser lights. The performance left the entire crowd with goosebumps. http://fp.io/68mc5f32/
