THE BAND - Watkins Glen Festival [4CD] - 1973/07/27+28

The Band - 1973/07/27+28 Watkins Glen Festival [4CD]

Here is a brand new release that just surfaced recently [note: 2010]: A complete audience recording of THE BAND at Watkins Glen on July 27-28, 1973. This was the famous Summer Jam also featuring the Grateful Dead and the Allman Brothers Band. Over 600,000 attended this historic concert.

I won't get into the historical aspects of the concert, I just want to get into what's in the music you will be receiving. First of all, in 1995 Capitol Records released a BOGUS album called THE BAND AT WATKINS GLEN that included studio recordings and fake crowd noises. Avoid that at all costs!!!! Also in the 90s a rough audience recording surfaced but was missing some songs. In 2010, this complete audience recording of much better quality surfaced and is here now. Encore closer Johnny B. Goode is included, but is from a different source.

  1. The links here and on the other Watkins Glen posts don't work (http://brooklynsteve2015.blogspot.com/2011/11/the-band-1973072728-watkins-glen.html) Could you please provide me with a link where I can download it. There seem to be a couple tracks here I was missing from my collection.

Also, do you happen to have or know where I can get the Allman Brothers Set from Watkins Glen 73? I have been looking for it for like a decade now and have not been able to find it anywhere. You can contact me at jeanlucbocuse@gmail.com Thanks so much.
