Jo Jo Gunne - Ultrasonic Studios, Long Island (1973)
Jo Jo Gunne was the band Jay Ferguson and Mark Andes formed after they left Spirit, Mark however left after the recording of the first album.
Between 1972 and 1974 Jo Jo Gunne released four good albums with the first one getting some commercial success that decreased on the next three and they would split around 1975. Jay Ferguson followed on a solo career from which we had a taste of on this post: Jay Ferguson - Roslyn NY

JIMMY THACKERY & The Drivers - Waterfront Park, Portland, Oregon 2002
Jimmy Thackery & The Drivers - Waterfront Park, Portland, Oregon 2002
Born in Pittsburgh and raised in Washington, Thackery co-founded The Nighthawks with Mark Wenner in 1972 and went on to record over twenty albums with them. In 1986 he began touring with The Assassins, a six-piece original blues, rock and R&B ensemble which he had previously helped start as a vacation band when The Nighthawks took one of their rare breaks. Originally billed as Jimmy Thackery and The Assassins, the band toured the U.S. Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, and Texas regions. The Assassins released a variety of recordings on the Seymour record label, two on vinyl (No Previous Record and Partners in Crime) and the 1989 CD Cut Me Loose.
In the wake of the Assassins 1991 break-up, Thackery has been leading a trio, Jimmy Thackery and the Drivers, whose early recordings were for the San Francisco, California based Blind Pig Records. In 2002 Thackery released, We Got It, his first album on Telarc and in 2006, In the Natural State with Earl and Ernie Cate on Rykodisc. In 2007, he released Solid Ice again with The Drivers His latest album 'Feel the Heat' was released in April 2011.

Review by Stephen Thomas Erlewine
It's never been easy to pigeonhole Trey Anastasio, but even armed with this
knowledge, Time Turns Elastic, his symphonic collaboration with Don Hart, still
manages to surprise. Anastasio has flirted with orchestral pieces before but this is
a full-blown, long-form composition arriving in ten movements, its luxurious strings
recalling Gil Evans, and Anastasio's twinkling single-note leads alternately
bringing to mind Larry Carlton and Jerry Garcia. Not all of Time Turns Elastic is
instrumental: by the time "Landslide" starts four songs in, vocals are brought into
the tapestry, but they're used as a way to pull the piece into focus, not to push it
in a pop direction. Certainly, Time Turns Elastic wasn't meant to be sampled track
by track, it's designed to be consumed in one sitting, to feel the waves of sound
ebb and flow, to experience the subtleties in what is Anastasio's most intriguing
and successful foray into art-pop to date.

This show was one of my highlights of the entire weekend. It lived up to it's billing and then some. The band alone was amazing and the special guests made it a night to remember. I tried to match the guest vocalists to the songs best I could remember. Jim James and John Oates traded lead on several tracks. Brittany Howard from the Alabama Shakes remained on stage and provided backing vocals for several tracks and even Billy Idol hung around until the end. James, Oates and Carl Broemel from My Morning Jacket provided guitars and members of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band made up the horn section.
There was a high energy level throughout the show and most everyone young and old knew every song played. The cool part was the crowd continuing to chant "Thank You Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin" for a couple minutes while the band took a short break. They came back and finished the track then took a short encore break.
The show started about 12:20 a.m. and defines what Bonnaroo is all about.

Arlo Guthrie - Live In Sydney
Arlo Guthrie -
Live in Sydney captures Arlo at his very best. Recorded in Sydney, Australia, June 2004 at The Seymour Center, Arlo is joined by son, Abe, on keyboard and multi-instrumentalist, Gordon Titcomb. This double CD intertwines the music and stories that have endeared Arlo to his audiences for more than 40 years. New originals are the crowd pleasing, heart touching song, “My Old Friend” and the haunting, melodic tribute to Hawaii, “Haleiwa Farewell (Haleiwa Blues)”. “Some people think a folksinger is someone who just sings their own songs. That's a shame. It's like being of the tradition, rather than in it. I've taught myself to make any song I like, my own." - Arlo Guthrie Arlo’s versions of his long-time favorites, “St. James Infirmary,” “Me and Bobby McGee,” and “Green Green Rocky Road” will stick in your head long after the music has stopped. Stories include old favorites and new ones too.

SOME INFO I FOUND ON THE NET
---------------------------------
SRV first met Stubb when he was in his late teens.
He would regularly play at Stubb’s Bar-B-Q joint in Lubbock.
Stories abound about SRV regularly blowing his earnings, stranding himself in Lubbock.
Stubb would always empty his cash register and give all that he had to SRV so the kid could get back home to Austin.
Stubb loved the blues. The next time you feel like some slow and low guitar,
put on SRV’s “Tin Pan Alley (AKA Roughest Place In
SRV learned to play this song by listening to James Reed’s version on Stubb’s jukebox.
Hatch says:
The date for that would be the late 70's.
Bands didn’t start playing Stubbs BBQ until after Jesse Taylor was picked up by Stubb
when he was hitch hiking one time. I believe that was in 77.
Then the jams started taking place at Stubbs. So I would place the photo to have been taken in 77 or 78 most likely.
Also when Stevie first started coming to Lubbock he lived both in Dallas
and the Austin areas. When in the Ely band we once were in between gigs and had no place to stay.
All the motels were book the night we came into town. So we just went to Stevie’s house
and plugged the bus into his electrical and spent the night in it.
That was in 78 I’m pretty sure. Here is a link to a picture of Stevie’s house in Oak Cliff
(taken in 2011well after SRV was playing in the forever band).
