The Rolling Stones have rehearsed for every World Tour since 1989 in Toronto, Ontario (Canada). They love this city. Usually when in T.O. they play a club gig somewhere's in the city. This boot is just such a gig.
Rehearsing for the 2002-2003 Licks Tour they played a "club gig" at the Palais Royale Club on Aug. 16, 2002. Lots of great older tunes on this one.

The Grateful Dead's last show at the Fillmore West was inherently a legendary event, and despite the fact that the group often failed to deliver their best performances at major events, on this night they cetainly rose to the occasion. This is also one of the last shows featuring the original, five-piece prototypical Dead lineup. Pigpen would become deathly ill a few days later, and Keith Godchaux began rehearsing with the band a few weeks afterwards. On this night, however, Pigpen is in remarkably strong form and Garcia seems to have boundless energy, as he also played on complete sets for the Rowan Brothers and the New Riders prior to this lengthy, final one with the Dead.
Though only their first set is presented here, the Dead played well the entire show, introducing much of the new material they'd been developing over the course of the year. In fact, the vast majority of this show is comprised of new material that hadn't been played prior to 1971. "Playing In The Band" was just beginning to be recognized as a vehicle for extended jamming. "China Cat Sunflower" and "I Know You Rider" had developed into one of their all-time classic transitional pairings, as had "Not Fade Away" and "Going Down The Road."
Pigpen, in particular, seems to be performing as if his life depended on it, and every song that he sings lead on is a standout version. He belts out a rare "The Rub," a hot cover of Otis Redding's "Hard To Handle" as well as a strong versions of "Next Time You See Me." He really cuts loose, however, on a nearly 19-minute "Good Lovin" that almost crackles with energy. Despite serious health issues, he is in top form here.
The band then takes a break before returning for an appropriately lengthy second set.

Review:
This show has been released several times, but each previous release seemed to have some type of flaw in the sound quality and/or overall package. Crystal Cat has brought everything together for this wonderful package. Packed full with images captured from the video, CC then adds a couple of great photos of its own. It was released at the end of 1994, and then re-released in 1995. The discs themselves, are the standard CC montage. Perhaps it's nerves, but Dylan rushes through the first three tracks as if he's hyping himself up to dive into the mosh pit. When he sees that the young crowed is becoming relaxed, and respectful of him, he settles into a normal rhythm. The songs are performed with power, and this soundboard recording captures them in all their perfection http://fp.io/ma6be492/

ERIC CLAPTON "Unreleased Live Album"
A number of shows in 1986 and 1987 were recorded for the release of a live album. However, with the pending release of the then - groundbreaking "Crossroads" box set, the project was shelved lest it compete commercially. There are a number of ROIO releases purporting to be the "Unreleased Live Album", and to the best of my knowledge, most are based only on speculation as to what the track list of the speculative live album would have been, and sourced from the various soundboards that have made their way into circulation. So, we really have no idea what an actual official release might have contained, but I'd like to think that this particular release might be a really good guess as to what it might have included. - geetarz.org

ROY BUCHANAN - The Prophet:The Unreleased First Polydor Album (2004)
In 1969 - some three years before his self-titled debut solidified his stature as a pre-eminent string bender - Roy Buchanan (guitar/vocals) signed with Polydor Records and began work on his first full-length platter. In 2004, three-and-a-half decades later, the audio archivists at Hip-O Select finally issued The Prophet: The Unreleased First Polydor Album (2004). Augmenting the 11-track running order that would have made up that disc, the single-CD package contains 30-plus minutes of previously vaulted outtakes, including tunes documented at an aborted March of 1971 session. Prior to garnering notoriety as "The World's Greatest Unknown Guitarist," Buchanan spent the '50s and early '60s as a support musician for a number of R&B outfits and served stints in both Dale Hawkins' and his Canadian cousin Ronnie Hawkins' respective combos. It was during a period that was marked by touring with the former that he first came to the attention of another rising performer named Charlie Daniels... - allmusic.com

A good bit of work went into this recording. This was taped from the lawn way back with recording levels basically as high as they could go to capture as much sound as possible. However it is still obviously distant, and the bass really muddied up everything. However with some EQing it really cleared up a lot and I'm quite happy with how this turned out compared to the raw master. Still, it's not exactly a top notch recording, was taken from the lawn remember.
The show got the title it has because this was the last night of the tour, and Steve Howe was doing guitars for both bands.

However with some EQing it really cleared up a lot and I'm quite happy with how this turned out compared to the raw master. Still, it's not exactly a top notch recording, was taken from the lawn remember. Be careful at the very beginning, I did turn the recording level down a tad from max so it will be a little loud for the first 30 seconds or so.
The show got the title it has because this was the last night of the tour, and Steve Howe was doing guitars for both bands.
