PAUL CARRACK , NICK LOWE - Steel Breeze / Paul Carrack with Nick Lowe's Noise To Go Broadcast window of 12/3 to 12/5, 1982
In Concert #82-24 - Steel Breeze / Paul Carrack-Nick Lowe
Here's one of those Westwood One "In Concert" shows that paired two very different artists with very different audiences. Steel Breeze was an American rock band from Sacramento and scored some early MTV exposure with "You Don't Want Me Anymore." They're working a hard rock, rock/pop metal style of music Nick Lowe teamed up with England's favorite utility infielder Paul Carrack to round out his "Noise To Go" band for a blast of British pub-rock. At the time, these two bands would have had two very different audiences.
The vinyl was VG+, but I spent many, many hours pulling off every minor click and pop that I could find, and now it plays like it's a M-. A bit of surface noise on the quiet parts where they talk to the audience but it sounds great.
Flac files of wavs. I've included scans of the cue sheet and disc label. I've tracked all the commercials and station breaks so you can leave 'em in or delete 'em. Fans of Pat Benatar might find the commercial on the first disc of passing interest; it's clearly done in her style but I'm sure that's not Benatar singing.

BIOGRAPHY
by Stephen Thomas Erlewine
At the time of their 1990 debut, the kind of rock & roll the Black Crowes specialized in was sorely out of style. Only Guns N' Roses came close to approximating a vintage Stones-style raunch, but they were too angry and jagged to pull it off completely. the Black Crowes, on the other hand, replicated that Stonesy swagger and Faces boogie perfectly. Vocalist Chris Robinson appropriated the sound and style of vintage Rod Stewart, while brother Rich Robinson fused Keith Richards' lean guitar attack with Ron Wood's messy rhythmic sense. At their best, the Black Crowes echoed classic rock without slavishly imitating their influences, and the band's nostalgic sound helped foster a long, popular career.
The Robinson brothers originally formed the Black Crowes in Georgia in 1984. By the time the group released its first album with 1990's Shake Your Money Maker, the lineup comprised vocalist Chris Robinson, guitarist Rich Robinson, bassist Johnny Colt, guitarist Jeff Cease, and drummer Steve Gorman. "Jealous Again," the first single from Shake Your Money Maker, was a moderate hit, but it was the band's cover of Otis Redding's "Hard to Handle" that made the Black Crowes a multi-platinum success. "Hard to Handle" climbed its way into the Top 40, propelling the album into the Top Ten along the way. The acoustic ballad "She Talks to Angels" became the band's second Top 40 hit in the spring of 1991, and Shake Your Money Maker eventually sold over three million copies.
the Black Crowes delivered their second album, The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion, in the spring of 1992. It entered the charts at number one but lacked strong hits, as none of the singles cracked the Top 40 and only "Remedy" and "Thorn in My Pride" made the Top 100. Nevertheless, the band established itself as a popular concert attraction that summer, selling out theaters across America. During 1992, the band added keyboardist Eddie Harsch as a permanent member. the Black Crowes' third album, Amorica, arrived in late 1994 and debuted in the Top Ten. Even so, none of the singles from the album made a significant dent, and the album slipped from the charts after going gold.
Three Snakes and One Charm, the group's fourth album, was released in July 1996. The album quickly slipped out of the Top 50 after making a strong entrance, yet it also received the best reviews of any Crowes album since The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion. Guitarist Marc Ford was fired from the Black Crowes in August 1997, and bassist Johnny Colt left the lineup in order to form the Brand New Immortals. With Rich Robinson handling all guitar parts, the band recorded and released By Your Side before collaborating with one of the world's most celebrated guitarists, Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page. This partnership was captured by the concert album Live at the Greek, an eclectic mix of newly recorded Zeppelin covers and additional classic blues cuts. Greatest Hits 1990-1999: A Tribute to a Work in Progress, a 16-track best-of compilation, was released several months later in 2000.
Don Was was enlisted to produce the band's new album, 2001's Lions, whose lyrics were influenced by Chris Robinson's highly publicized relationship with actress Kate Hudson. A month-long summer tour with Oasis -- dubbed "the Tour of Brotherly Love" due to the prevalence of siblings in both bands -- followed in June. All was apparently not well with the group, however, and the band announced its decision to go on hiatus in January 2002. Drummer Steve Gorman was fired, and Chris Robinson began planning a solo career. It was Rich Robinson who was first out of the gate with a solo project, though, releasing Paper in 2004. In 2005, however, the Black Crowes reunited for a show at San Francisco's Fillmore, a concert that was released in both CD and DVD formats as Freak 'N' Roll...Into the Fog in 2006. That year also saw the release of The Lost Crowes, which contained two previously unreleased albums, 1993's Tall (parts of which were seen in Amorica and other places) and the 1997 never-before-heard Band. Following a series of lineup changes, the retooled band hit the road for a proper tour before setting to work on their first studio effort in seven years. Joined by newcomer Luther Dickinson, guitarist and co-founder of the North Mississippi Allstars, the Black Crowes combined the rootsy appeal of their early work with a newfound political awareness on 2008's Warpaint. A live performance of the album, available as both a DVD and a two-disc CD set titled Warpaint Live, appeared a year later in 2009. Before the Frost/Until the Freeze arrived that same year, marking the band's eighth studio effort and gathering warm reviews.
the Black Crowes continued their prolific streak with 2010's Croweology, a double-disc album that featured new acoustic recordings of the band's past work. The album's release was bittersweet, though, as it coincided with a farewell tour followed by another indefinite hiatus. Rich Robinson released his second solo album, Through a Crooked Sun, in 2011.
JOE BONAMASSA - An Acoustic Evening at The Vienna Opera House
He has a following in the United States, but over in Europe Joe Bonamassa's star shines so bright he can headline Vienna Music Hall, a gorgeous opera house traditionally housing the Vienna Philharmonic. It's a large venue and one that conveys class, so Bonamassa has indeed gone the classy route here, choosing to dedicate his concert to "An Acoustic Evening," an event then documented on the 2013 live DVD/CD set An Acoustic Evening at the Vienna Opera House (the set is available in various permutations of DVD, BluRay, CD). Bonamassa didn't take this task lightly. He's supported by four musicians, all playing a variety of old-timey acoustic instruments (banjo, fiddle, harmonium, mandola, and, naturally, nyckelharpa), surrounded himself with ten acoustic guitars and dobro, and plays a marathon set list of 20 songs. All this space does indeed give Bonamassa ample space to demonstrate he's skilled at being more than just a jacked-up electric blues guitarist splicing together strands of SRV and Clapton. He sounds comfortable in this setting, perhaps even a little liberated, turning his songs into country-blues and backporch stomps. There are enough new colors and textures to turn the ear of skeptics who may get a little weary of Bonamassa's never-ending string of releases (at least two a year every year of the 2010s, so far), but the concert itself is also in danger of being too much of a good thing, lasting almost two hours in its DVD/BluRay incarnation (and both have additional hour-long making-of documentaries). The CD is shorter and contains judiciously selected highlights so the casual fans can turn there, but really, anybody who is a serious Bonamassa head will not be disappointed with this acoustic concert, which offers more different and interesting sounds than any other previous Bonamassa album. - allmusic.com

This is the same show that is available on pro shot video, which, incidentally is a stunning video if for no other reason than the amazing crystal-clear quality. The sound is pristine and perfect. Listen to the power of the drums at the beginning of ITIS.
This differs slighty from the video in that there are 3 songs NOT on the video.
DAVID GRISMAN - Quintet ’80 [Deluxe Edition]
David Grisman – Quintet ’80 [Deluxe Edition] (2013)
Throughout his career, David Grisman has performed music that crosses between many boundaries, from “new acoustic” folk to bluegrass and swing-oriented jazz. In early 1980 Grisman recorded the first of four studio albums for Warner Brothers Records. Quintet ’80 features Grisman’s string group (which also includes violinist Darol Anger, Mike Marshall on mandolin, guitar and violin, Mark O’Connor on violin and guitar, and bassist Rob Wasserman) playing six of Grisman’s diverse originals, an obscure tune, and a brief rendition of John Coltrane’s “Naima.”
The original LP has been out of print for nearly three decades and this Deluxe Edition presents all of the original master takes plus five previously unissued alternate takes, all newly transferred to the highest quality sound format available (24 bit, 96khz) at Acoustic Oasis.

REVIEW
by Stephen Thomas Erlewine
Those who don't pay attention to the jam band underground may be excused for wondering why such luminaries as Del and Ronnie McCoury, Taj Mahal, Béla Fleck, Sam Bush, Jo-El Sonnier, Jerry Douglas, Lucinda Williams, and Waylon Jennings appear on an album by Leftover Salmon, but those in the know will be aware of the Colorado act's burgeoning reputation. Throughout the '90s, the group quietly built up a following with a series of solid records and constant touring. By the end of the decade, they had become a popular cult band and were on a major label, which gave them the opportunity to record the star-studded Nashville Sessions. Every song on the album features a duet of some sort, and producer Randy Scruggs was able to secure the big names, which certainly gives the album character. Still, the set wouldn't be much more than glorified stunt casting if it didn't give Leftover Salmon an opportunity to flex their muscles, to illustrate how far they've come over the years. Not only are they working with strong material (something that hasn't always happened on their previous albums), but Scruggs keeps things clean and simple, putting the spotlight on the music itself. Throughout it all, Leftover Salmon successfully keep pace with their heavyweight guests and, in the process, they turn in the most charming album of their career to date.
BIOGRAPHY
by Jason Ankeny
The self-described "polyethnic cajun slamgrass" group Leftover Salmon formed in Colorado in the early '90s as a merger of two area acts, the Left Hand String Band and the Salmonheads. Comprised of vocalist/guitarist/washboard player Vince Herman, banjoist Mark Vann, mandolinist/guitarist Drew Emmit, bassist Tye North and drummer Michael Wooten, the band's good-timey earned a grassroots following on the festival circuit and resulted in their 1993 self-released debut Bridges to Bert. Ask the Fish, a 1995 live effort recorded at Boulder, Colorado's Fox Theatre, helped Leftover Salmon earn a deal with the Hollywood label, which in 1997 released the group's major label bow Euphoria. The Nashville Sessions followed two years later. Upon issuing the Live album in spring 2002, Leftover Salmon experienced some restructuring within the band. North and Wooten were no longer part of Leftover Salmon. Greg Garrison stepped in to play bass, Jose Martinez was added on drums and newcomer Bill McKay joined on keyboards.
