GEORGE HARRISON - Sue Me Sue You Blues - The Lost Tapes (2003)
A rare and excellent recording of the unreleased “Soundstage Of The Mind” is an assett for the Seattle tape. The rearrangement of “In My Life” follows but Harrison sings the last line “In my life, I’ve loved you all” instead of “I’ve loved God more” as he does later in the tour. The show ends with “What Is Life?” and the ten minute long version of “My Sweet Lord” as the encore. The show definitely improves with the long jam in “For You Blue.” Harrison introduced the band at this point before a short, “disco” version of “Give Me Peace.”
George Harrison was the first ex-Beatle to schedule a US tour. The opening night was on November 2nd, in Vancouver and the second show was two nights later in Seattle. Sue Me Sue You Blues is a Russian copy of Live In Seattle 1974. The sound quality is very good.
Recorded live in Seattle at the Center Coliseum, November 4, 1974

SPIRIT – Original Album Classics [5 CD Boxset]
Spirit – Original Album Classics [5 CD Boxset]
Spirit was an American jazz/hard rock/progressive rock/psychedelic band founded in 1967, based in Los Angeles, California.
The original lineup of the group evolved from an earlier Los Angeles band, The Red Roosters, which included Randy California (guitars, vocals), Mark Andes (bass) and Jay Ferguson (vocals, percussion). With the addition of California's stepfather Ed Cassidy (drums), and keyboard player John Locke the new band was originally named the Spirits Rebellious (after a book by Khalil Gibran) but was soon shortened simply to Spirit. Randy California had also played with Jimi Hendrix (then known as Jimmy James) in Jimmy James and the Blue Flames in 1966.
Cassidy was instantly recognizable by his shaven head (hence his nickname "Mr. Skin") and his fondness for wearing black. He was around twenty years older than the rest of the group (born in 1923). His earlier career was primarily in jazz and included stints with Cannonball Adderley, Gerry Mulligan, Roland Kirk, Thelonious Monk and Lee Konitz. He was a founding member of Rising Sons with Taj Mahal and Ry Cooder.

JULIAN LENNON - Everything Changes
Julian Lennon – Everything Changes (2011)
The son of John Lennon and his first wife, Cynthia, Julian Lennon parlayed a remarkable vocal similarity to his father into a moderately successful singing career during the 1980s.
Everything Changes is the sixth studio album by Julian and is his first since 1998's Photograph Smile. The first single from the album is “Lookin’ 4 Luv”. Lennon has described the material as “a bit more free-flowing than [his] previous work”, calling it his “favourite album so far”. Revealing how Everything Changes came about, Lennon explained: “Obviously, if you sit down and play around for a bit, you’re going to come up with ideas. One thing led to another and pretty soon I had about 30 ideas, so I invited some friends to come over and flesh them out into songs”.

LEFT LANE CRUISER - ALL YOU CAN EAT
Yay! Left Lane Cruiser is back already with a new album. It’s called “All You Can Eat!!” and it’s filled once again with raw, dirty and distorted blues that tugs at your heartstrings and makes you dance.
They didn’t change a thing and they don’t have to because this two-man band sounds like there’s four of them anyway and their songwriting skills are top-notch. Just listen to opener Crackalacka“” or “Hard Luck” and agree with me here folks! Songs about being broke have never sounded this good!
In another life, Freddie J IV could have been a good ol' fingerpickin', porch-playin' blues guitarist. Basking away in the sun, he could have whiled away his time exploring the many shades of blues, from country hit whittling to Delta swamp wading. But there was fire in his belly and a flame in his soul, and in his hands the blues were transformed into an assault weapon. Bren "Sausage Paw" Beck was perhaps every mother's nightmare, a boy who seemingly just couldn't sit still. In a world pulsing with rhythm — from the blood pounding through our veins to the cacophony of traffic in our towns — Beck had to drum back in response at every turn, on anything and everything available. He is a continuous tattoo, battering out the beats of his own internal drums. Fatefully, one day the two met, and so was born Left Lane Cruiser, an astounding two-man blues band.
Lo-fi is a totally inadequate term to describe their sound, a sizzling mix of Beck's pusillanimous drums, claps, percussion, and hoots and hollers and Freddie J's blistering guitar and husky vocals. This is the blues in their purest form, rough and ragged, rubbed raw by too much hard living and too many tough breaks. The blues' African-American progenitors could bare the pain in their souls, but dared not express the anger that underlay it. Cruiser, however, are under no such constraints, and on the trio of songs that close the set the music bristles with barely repressed rage that immediately brings the Stooges to mind. In contrast, the exuberant crash and bash of "Wash It," the dizzy stomp of "KFD," and the gleeful hook of "G Bob" all roil with a grand joie de vivre, with the exhilarating "Set Me Down" the perfect band anthem. Then again, every track on Bring Yo' Ass to the Table ripples with energy and an electric charge of creative frisson. Whether celebrating a plate of "Pork n' Beans," "Big Momma"'s delights, or "G Bob"'s steel guitar playing, the Cruisers rumble through the back streets of life, focusing on the small details, although the scathing "Amerika" does look at the bigger picture. A thoroughly unique journey down a well-traveled road; best now to sit yo' ass down a spell and listen to this stunning album.
Left Lane Cruiser's "Bring Yo Ass To The Table" is some pretty raw stuff by the duo of guitarist/vocalist Freddy J IV and Drummer Brenn "Sausage Paw" Beck. The resophonic guitar work by Freddy J IV is commanding and his vocals probably obscene (if we could tell for sure). But setting it off on tunes like "Wash It," "Pork N' Beans," "G Bob," and "Mr. Johnson" are Beck's simple back-and-forth grooves, from double-time to half-time, heads barely tightened on, cymbals cranked, cowbells stung on the off beats, metal scraped, and cardboard trashed.

BIOGRAPHY
by Steve Leggett
Specializing in a raw hillbilly punk-blues style that roars like a modal, tweaking chainsaw, Left Lane Cruiser is a two-piece band comprised of Frederick “Joe” Evans IV on slide guitar and Brenn Beck on drums. The pair came out of Fort Wayne, IN but their sound has the swampy feel of North Mississippi hill country blues à la Junior Kimbrough and R.L. Burnside, with a good dose of snarling garage punk tossed into the mix. A self-released album, Gettin’ Down on It, was released on the group’s own Hillgrass Bluebilly Records in 2006, and the following year, they signed to Alive Records. Bring Yo’ Ass to the Table appeared from the imprint in 2008, followed by All You Can Eat in 2009 and Junkyard Speed Ball in 2011.

R.E.M. – Part Lies, Part Heart, Part Truth, Part Garbage [1982-2011-2CD]
R.E.M. – Part Lies, Part Heart, Part Truth, Part Garbage [1982-2011-2CD] (2011)
The notion of absence making the heart grow fonder was never better demonstrated with the world’s recent rediscovery of R.E.M.. A band that most would agree had become less and less vital over recent years, all it took was a simple announcement of goodbye in September to send us scurrying back to those old records. Given their firm assurances that this really is the end of the road – no farewell tours, definitely no comeback – Part Lies… represents a final gesture. Even then it manages to charter new ground, the first compilation to gather together their entire career, at least in terms of single releases. Track listed chronologically, it reflects how the Athens band went from unknown to cult to mid-level success to global stardom and down the other side. The…
music, too, tells the story – moving from the enigmatic introspection of their early work right up to their commercial heyday. Along the way are some of the most genuinely stunning musical moments of the past three decades. Given the problem with consistency that most bands seem to have these days, the five year streak of Document, Green, Out Of Time and Automatic For The People is nothing short of staggering, a period that saw them produce era defining singles that served as a gateway to even more amazing albums. The fact that this status didn’t entirely diminish speaks volumes as to what the band had achieved over the years. Given the quality of what had gone before, it is not surprising that each new release was greeted with hope of a return to form and then left most disappointed. Yet so influential, so truly historic was that form that it was perhaps no surprise that REM were unable to match it – after all neither could most other bands. Packaged simply but stylishly and with often fascinating sleeve notes from all members (including the retired Berry),Part Lies, Part Heart, Part Truth, Part Garbage 1982–2011 is quite the way to bow out. You could argue that it reflects only part of the story but the albums will always be there to fill in the gaps. As with everything they did, REM leave us with dignity and some wonderful, wonderful music.
